I recently did a search of the new senate bill and found the term “such sums as necessary” 71 times. This scares me a whole bunch. How can anyone tell us how much money this bill will cost when it contains 71 blank checks?

I have also read a lot of the bills that they are negotiating over right now and they have so many pages so that they can contradict themselves continuously. For example, in the original house bill, it says that illegal aliens do not get healthcare, but then it does not require you to prove citizenry.
These bills are some of the ugliest legislation I have ever seen. Our social security bill is 82 pages and our Constitution is about 15-16 pages. Good laws are simple laws.
